Her best-selling books, The Mentor’s Guide, Creating a Mentoring CultureThe Mentees Guide and most recently, Starting Strong, have become the primary resources of Fortune 500 companies, government, education, technology, health-care and nonprofit organizations interested in promoting mentoring for leadership and learning.

Dr. Zachary is the president of Leadership Development Services, LLC, a Phoenix-based consulting firm that specializes in leadership and mentoring and the director of its Center for Mentoring Excellence. She has been recognized “as one of the top 100 minds in leadership,” and in addition to her extensive publications, she is editor of Examining and Expanding Mentoring Practices (Adult Learning Special Issue), co-editor of The Adult Educator as Consultant and co-author of Creating and Sustaining Collaborative Partnerships.

Dr. Zachary holds two master’s degrees and received a doctorate in Adult and Continuing Education from Teachers’ College Columbia University. She is the founding member and past chair of the Phoenix Athena PowerLink™ Governing Board, a program sponsored by the Phoenix, Arizona Chamber of Commerce, which helps women-owned businesses expand profitably through the use of mentoring advisory panels. Zachary is a member of Charter 100, an organization that recognizes women of achievement who make significant contributions to the community; and has held leadership positions on many community and national boards including the Mentor National Team of the Chicago Public Schools, and the Advisory Council of Arizona State’s University School of Global Management and Leadership.

Lisa Fain

Her passion for diversity and inclusion work fuels her strong conviction that leveraging differences creates a better workplace and drives better business results.

Lisa has delivered popular talks and workshops on topics such as “Mentoring Across Difference: Using Cultural Competency to Make your Mentoring Work”, “Ten Essential Steps to Find the Right Mentor for You” and “Mentoring Matters: Transforming Your Career and Workplace Through Mentoring”.

Lisa brings her energy, enthusiasm and engagement to any group, delivering interactive speeches with practical steps that can be implemented right away.

As Senior Director of the Diversity and Inclusion function at Outerwall, Inc., Lisa spearheaded the development, establishment and implementation of its diversity initiative. Prior to assuming that position, she worked as Outerwall’s in-house counsel, coaching leaders and partnering with Human Resources to establish fair and effective policies and practices that would sustain the organization as it grew in size, revenue and renown.

For almost a decade, Lisa practiced law in the Chicago office of a major multinational, where she counselled employers on creating inclusive policies and practices.  While in that role she served a Master Trainer, training thousands of employees at a variety of companies, large and small, on how to create a better workplace.

Lisa also founded Vista Coaching, a division of Center for Mentoring Excellence, which provides group coaching for professional women looking to design and live their best lives.  She is a certified mediator. She graduated with a B.S. in Social Policy from Northwestern University and holds a JD from Northwestern University School of Law. 

A move to Seattle, WA is providing Lisa a welcome opportunity to hike and explore the Pacific Northwest with her husband and two daughters.

Lory A. Fischler

She is a dynamic, insightful and seasoned professional with over twenty five years’ experience in consulting, training and coaching clients from a diverse array of organizations, including Fortune 500, healthcare, manufacturing, government and nonprofit organizations.

Lory is the creator of Leadership Development Services’ Workstyle Inventory, a tool widely used by clients to promote self-understanding and team interaction. She also developed the Effective Meeting Model©, which improves the quality and efficiency of client meetings. Lory coauthored The Mentee’s Guide: Making Mentoring Work for You, released in 2009, and Creating and Sustaining Collaborative Partnerships (2002). In addition, she has also coauthored a number of articles on the topics of leadership and mentoring and a series of toolkits focusing on mentoring excellence.

Ms. Fischler is a graduate of Lake Erie College and studied at the University of Grenoble, Boston University and Boston State University. She worked at Motorola University as a master instructor and was the first person to receive its Instructor of the Year Award.
