Josh Bowen

Josh is passionate about making people and organizations better through leader development. He is committed to building intentional leaders who create significant impacts in, through, and alongside others. He has over twelve years of experience leading, managing, and teaching.

Josh is an active duty US Army officer having served in numerous locations across the US and abroad, to include combat. Most notably, he served as a faculty member at the United States Military Academy (USMA) at West Point, NY. There he served as a coach to over 130 cadets across all four classes to optimize their 47-month developmental journey at the Academy. He was a course director for Applied Leader Development and a lecturer of Military Leadership in support of the Academy’s Department of Behavioral Sciences & Leadership, teaching dozens of cadets and mid-level Army leaders over three years. He received USMA’s annual Leadership and Learning Application Award and a teaching excellence award.

Josh is also the founder and Chief Executive of 3×5 Leadership, a business that champions intentional leaders by equipping and inspiring them with a robust portfolio of online education, training, and resources. Through 3×5 Leadership, Josh regularly teaches and coaches leaders virtually who serve in mid to upper level organizational leadership positions, enabling them to be more intentional in how they lead and develop others everyday.

Beyond these roles, Josh has also contributed to leader development and mentorship communities as a fellow with the nonprofit, Military Mentors, and a senior fellow at USMA’s Center for Junior Officers. He is an avid reader, writer, and an endurance athlete who enjoys spending hours running on remote trails. Most importantly, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Lindsey, and their two young children.

He holds a BS in civil engineering from USMA, a MA in organizational psychology from Columbia University, and an ME in engineering management from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs.
